Bob and Doug McKenzie in Punching Rick Moranis

In the video Punching Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of strange Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a program which was shown on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was featured on CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Which was created originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh about non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the two became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The pair enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
