In the video Push underway for safety improvements on Dave Thomas Circle in DC, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a show which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob’s character is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as an idea to both please and mock annoying Canadian content legislation, the brothers turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and America. The pair later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
