In the video Putting Humanity at the Center of Design | Dave Thomas interviews Michael O’Bryan | Think Company, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of strange Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was aired on CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by actor Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as a sketch to both please and laugh about dumb Canadian content legislation, the duo became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The two soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
