In the video Ranking the 250 Greatest Canadians: 175 – Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by actor Dave Thomas. Which was made originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh at legal Canadian content rules, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers went on to become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
