You had to have lived during this time to reallye appreciate this song. The satire of it hits everyone to include hippies and southerners. Another song you might want to try is Neil Youngs Southern Man.
Legend of wooly swamp and long haired redneck are 2 more great Charlie daniels songs
You sound like a child. Grow up and get a pair

Simple man is his best ,its been my go to song for 25 plus years
Being a product of the 60s, from the mountains of central Pennsylvania, people wore their ego and stupidity right out there in the open, on their sleeve, along with last night's supper, some beer and a streak of snot. There was no city slicker manners or words that exceeded two syllables, and the expectation of reason and rational were a lost cause. You could always bet that the strongest and stupidest character was their leader though. You pretty much knew who was going to do what, on sight. Literally, all you had to do is watch the eyes. The majority were only able to reproduce because they studied the neighbor's dogs and copied them. I realize that its a harsh stereotype but I'm actually being polite. I was born and raised among these people and I only venture back now and then as an educational field trip because my sons used to think I was making this stuff up.
About the "fags" line, you gotta remember what the situation was. He was trying to make the other rednecks believe his story that the guy he kicked was a left wing Commie spy, and so he was talking to them the way THEY would think to get them to believe his story.
One thing is still rings true. The cost of a tire is still twenty times the cost of a beer.
YOU CAN SAY ANYTHING YA WANT THIS IS THE USA!!!!!
If you think the f word will get you into trouble now, wait until you listen to part 2. It's called "Uneasy Rider '86" and it is hilarious.
Graet storytelling song by this classic artist. Kinda reminds me of a southern/country version of Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie. That was a fun song…don't think I've heard it before as I haven't heard a lot of Charlie's music. Good stuff though…very entertaining haha! Wanna check out a very underappreciated gem by the great Blue Öyster Cult? Please add the song Monsters to your playlist. It's a great song IMO…even has a couple of jazzy saxophone breaks in it, a very unusual choice for this genre of music. I'd post a link, but it would probably cause my comment to disappear like I've had happen before. No rush to add that song ad I'm sure other people would like to hear their requests too. Cheers!
