In the video REACTION | STRAIGHT NO CHASER “12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS” | HOLIDAY 2019, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in . Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as a sketch to both please and laugh at network Canadian content guidelines, the duo morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

The video was made in 1998. The video was uploaded to YouTube by one of the members of the original Straight No Chaser, Randy Stine. It went viral and one of the heads of Atlanta Records saw it and they got a recording contract!

Fun history, this video was re-posted by one of the members quite some time after they performed this and it effectively re-launched this particular group of singers (they were in a competition group as you mentioned). They have had quite the career since then and songs like the Christmas Can Can and Who Spiked the Egg Nog are just plain fun.

I believe I haven't seen you react to "Citizen Queen", an all girl acapella band actually put together by Scott from PTX. If you haven't heard them you gotta check them out!! I like all their videos, but "Evolution of Girl Bands" or "No more tears left to Cry" are just spectacular… and seeing you love base… you gotta hear Kaedi, xD.

I feel you on the music at work. At Michael's during the holidays, it was the same 5 or 6 songs, all instrumental versions. It was horrible. Now, I listen to an actual radio station that plays nothing but 80s music and doesn't repeat the same songs over and over. Kinda nice that they do play old American Top 40 with Casey Kasem.
Where I used to work we had to put the Xmas cd on on the 1st of November. We weren’t allowed to play anything else until after new year. After listening to the same 4 hours of Xmas songs for 2 months solid, the cd met with a little ‘accident’
A friend of mine shared this video on Facebook about 6 or 7 years ago and thus began my obsession with Straight No Chaser.

I was a junior in high school. They are a great group. First time I saw them was on PBS when they did The Christmas Can Can. Another great song. They also do melodies of 70s, 80s, Disney, boy bands, etc.

I first saw this video a couple of years back. They are an acapella group from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, south of Indianapolis. This was a Christmas performance for the University. The only reason I didn't "like" this video is that I was born when this video was made, I'm #!%&* years old. 😉
