In the video Redneck 12 Days of Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian brothers who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was streamed on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob is performed by comic Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. It was born originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and make fun of dumb Canadian content guidelines, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The two became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
