Bob and Doug McKenzie in Redneck 12 Days of Christmas

In the video Redneck 12 Days of Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hilarious Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was featured on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it got sent to CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s part is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by actor Dave Thomas. It was made originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh at stupid Canadian content statutes, the characters morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The two soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
