The character Bob McKenzie is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as fluff to both please and make fun of stupid Canadian content demands, the siblings turned into a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The characters went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
