In the video Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hysterical Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. It was born originally as an idea to both fulfill and laugh about stupid Canadian content laws, the two turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Frederick Allan “Rick” Moranis (born April 18, 1953) is a Canadian actor and a two-time Grammy nominated musician. Moranis came to prominence around 1980 in the sketch comedy show Second City Television and later appeared in several Hollywood films, including Strange Brew, Ghostbusters, Spaceballs, Little Shop of Horrors, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (and its sequels), Little Giants, Parenthood, The Flintstones, and My Blue Heaven. Moranis has not appeared in a film since 1997 although he has provided voice-over work for a few animated films.
