In the video Rick Moranis Attacked In NY, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s character is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Although brought to life originally as a joke to both please and laugh about non sensical Canadian content laws, the characters turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The two enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
