In the video Rick Moranis Attacked In Random Assault In New York City | News Flash | Entertainment Weekly, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a show which was featured on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is played by Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as filler to both satisfy and mock network Canadian content policies, the characters turned into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The two went on to become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
