Bob’s character is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as an idea to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content guidelines, the characters morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the US. The pair went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
