In the video Rick Moranis Encourages Moviegoers to see Ghostbusters, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of strange Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a show which was included on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s character is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by comic Dave Thomas. Although created originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh about silly Canadian content policies, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The characters went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
