Bob and Doug McKenzie in Rick Moranis (Goodbye, So Long)

In the video Rick Moranis (Goodbye, So Long), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s part is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. It was developed originally as a joke to both please and mock dumb Canadian content legislation, the brothers turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
