Bob’s part is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh about stupid Canadian content laws, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The pair became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
