Gravedale High had a similar concept to Tiny Toon Adventures. Both shows took place in a high school and featured teenagers based on characters from the Golden age of Hollywood (movie monsters for Gravedale High, theatrical cartoon stars for Tiny Toons). Both shows came out in 1990 and featured the talents of voice acting legends Frank Welker and Maurice LaMarche. In the end, Tiny Toons won the duel, having lasted a total of ninety-eight episodes over the course of three seasons (it probably helped that it was a spin-off of Looney Tunes, Warner Bros.' most iconic intellectual property) compared to Gravedale High's total of thirteen episodes over the course of one season.
I remember seeing this, but I had no idea it was on NBC (during the tail end of them airing cartoons on Saturday mornings), nor did I know that this had Rick Moranis in it. That guy was part of my childhood and I didn't even know (besides Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and that live-action Flintstones movie where he played Barney Rubble).
