In the video Rick Moranis in Gravedale High Sing Along The Happy Day Express, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of fictional Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as a joke to both satisfy and mock annoying Canadian content statutes, the characters became a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
