The character Bob McKenzie is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh at legal Canadian content rules, the pair became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The characters soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
