Bob and Doug McKenzie in Rick Moranis – Light My Fire

In the video Rick Moranis – Light My Fire, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was included on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as a skit to both satisfy and makes jokes about silly Canadian content laws, the duo morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
