Bob and Doug McKenzie in Rick Moranis

In the video Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s character is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by actor Dave Thomas. It was born originally as a sketch to both fulfill and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content guidelines, the characters became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
