  1. I hate Josh Gad. anyway, I have a theory…Maybe…just MAYBE…he will be in Ghostbusters. Im hoping that they are just keeping it entirely under wraps…cuz in my opinion…u cant have an effective ghostbusters movie without Louis Tully.

  2. It’s completely understandable why he’s coming out of retirement for the new honey I shrunk the kids movie instead of ghostbusters afterlife he was one of the main characters in the first honey I shrunk the kids why would he return to ghostbusters a franchise we’re he was just a minor character in

  3. If you read about why he retired in the first place, I don't think this is a cash grab for him at all. His wife died of cancer so this role could be his love letter to her and his kids. A story about what is important after losing a loved one and raising children alone. It'll still have humor. Sure we'd all love to see him in another Ghostbusters or spaceballs reboot, but those would be more of a empty cash grab than something like this. If this is truly the story of the film, I'm sure it will be very hard to do. Less of a reboot and more of a love letter and a look back at a time when he had both his wife and family! If this is the only thing he ever does again and leaves, than congrats Rick. Congrats for putting your heart and family first, before money or fame.

  4. I'll always love Rick Moranis, but if he turned down Ghostbusters Afterlife and comes out of retirement for sequel of Honey I Shrunk The Kids that's going to sting to all the Ghostbusters fans

  5. It might make sense. He always said he could go back to acting if the script and role interested him a lot.

As far as I have read, the film may (also) focus on Diane's death from cancer and Wayne may struggle to move forward with this.

Rick Moranis' wife really died of cancer and this could cause him to feel the project very close to him.

  6. About Star Trek Discovery, "That's so F'N cool." breaks canon. Cause in Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home, Kirk and Spock are shocked by all the swearing in current year 1986. But STD and Original Series/cast are only set 10 years apart. Between that 10 years, people in the future stopped swearing, got MANNERS, and started getting shocked at swearing? None of this makes sense.

  7. Rick Moranis is a graet guy. He decided to stay at home and take care of his kids after his wife died of cancer in 1991. He did a few movies after that, but not at the same rate as during the 80s. So I wish him well with whatever he decides.

  9. The way things have been going, Rick will get "Tasha Yarred," and his shrink-ray inventing protegee will invent a 2020 ray that magically turns liberal morons into what they "identify as." The End.

  10. I'm rather uncomfortable with the plot synopsis for "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" reboot as the vehicle for Rick Moranis' return to Hollywood.
After all, it was the death of Moranis' wife from cancer that motivated him to quit Hollywood in the first place.

A movie where Wayne Szalinski shut himself away from his family & the world for years because he is supposedly distraught over the death of his wife from cancer? That seems a bit too close to home, if you know what I mean.

  11. I still think it's funny that all these articles mention he won't appear… Which makes me think maybe he's lending his voice to the new film. Perhaps a phone call or series of phone calls in character.

  12. D@mn, I don't know how to think about this one…

Its great that he's coming back and all… But unless he (himself) actually chose to star in the show with that sort of storyline as the extended tale, deliberately (of his own free will) I don't think he should be made to have to be any part of it otherwise (especially if it proves to be that he is being contractually forced back in to it) I mean seriously the whole reason he left Hollywood in the first place, was the death of his wife by Cancer, while he was away doing films (It tore him apart when she basiclly died alone without him, while he was doing a show) So he left 'Tinsel Town' after her death (telling the heartless little hell of Hollywood what they could go do with themselves after his loss) and dedicated his life to raise his & her children (full time) after that, so that they may still be able to have a good family life even after the loss of their mother…

It would be sad if some obnoxios Studio lawyers & heads forced him back into the show with that sort of storyline deliberately in it, without him having his own desire to do it (in the first place) I only hope that he chose to come back on his own and wasn't forced into it with that sort of story to the new movie…
