Bob is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was made originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh at dumb Canadian content demands, the siblings transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
