EXCLUSIVE from Deadline Hollywood who has confirmed that Rick Moranis, the SCTV alum and comedy star of such hit pics as Ghostbusters, The Flintstones, Spaceballs, Little Shop of Horrors, My Blue Heaven and Parenthood has closed a deal to return to the next Honey, I Shrunk the Kids sequel Shrunk. The movie will be made for the theatrical side, not Disney+.
As previously reported, the pic’s original director Joe Johnston will be back with Josh Gad also starring. The movie centers around Gad’s character who is the son of Moranis’ Wayne Szalinski. Son is aspiring to be a great scientist like his father, but accidentally shrinks the kids.

I'm sorry, but new age CGI will ruin everything. The feeling of actual contact like in the 80's movies, are gone.
That being said. I love that they're trying. Though I don't trust Disney, at all.

When I was little I was a huge fan of his and definitely miss his presence when he stopped acting. I'll definitely want to check out this movie. I always used to actually watch honey I blew up the kid and for many years it was my only reference for Las Vegas...
I hope this means he can be talked into ghostbusters....
