But not Ghostbusters?, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian brothers who created “Great White North”, a sketch which was televised on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s character is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by actor Dave Thomas. It was created originally as filler to both satisfy and makes jokes about network Canadian content statutes, the pair morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The pair later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

I get what your saying cause his character Louis Tully isn't really in the real ghostbusters or extreme ghostbusters so it show how he is unnecessary his character is and at this point him being in a honey i shrunk the kids sequel isn't necessary cause they could have based it off the tv show where Peter Scolari played Wayne Szalinski not Rick Moranis so at this point both franchises don't really need him anymore

It does make sense and I understand it. Like you said, The 'Shrunk the Kids' is kinda his franchise. Either come back and do a little/useless cameo in Ghostbusters or a possibly vital part/bigger part in Shrunk the Kids. It's really the only franchise that he got to be the main star (the original and its' two sequels).
