In the video Rick Moranis Revenge Date, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian brothers who starred in “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s character is created by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about silly Canadian content rules, the pair turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
