Bob’s part is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by Dave Thomas. Although born originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh at silly Canadian content legislation, the pair became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The characters soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Rick Moranis, star of “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” was attacked by an unknown assailant near New York City’s Central Park on Thursday, police said.
The 67-year-old actor and comedian had just gotten back from a morning walk and was standing outside his Upper West Side building when the suspect, wthout saying a word, punched him in the head, knocking Moranis to the ground. The NYPD said the attacked occurred on Central Park West near W 70th Street around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
According to the NYPD, Moranis took himself to the hospital before later reporting the incident to police at the 20th Precinct. He suffered injuries to his head, back and hip, and is recovering at his home.

Guys like this have to be kept off the streets. If he has mental issues he needs to be kept in an institution. The physical and emotional harm he did to Mr. Moranis was unnecessary and could have lasting effects. Not to mention the effect on race relations and perception of young black men. It's more than just a one-time incident. This guy needs to be punished because his actions are far reaching.
We see the race war the media is trying to start had this been a black actor who was punched by a white person you would have labeled this a hate crime more people are seeing through your veil of deception.
