In the video Rick Moranis tells a story #familyguy, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was shown on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it was featured on CBC Television in the eighties. Bob is played by comic Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as filler to both follow guidelines and mock network Canadian content rules, the characters grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The pair later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
