Bob and Doug McKenzie in Rick Moranis, “The Girl From Ipanema”
In the video Rick Moranis, “The Girl From Ipanema”, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob is acted by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although born originally as a joke to both please and laugh at network Canadian content legislation, the two became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Moranis created and produced A LOT of very funny satiric music videos and audio tracks, even releasing an LP. Check out more of his "Gerry Todd" (a fictitious VJ) clips. He and all of the crew from the SCTV show from 1978 to 1983 were comic geniuses.
this is from around 1981
I LOVE IT!!!
Rick Moranis really had his finger on the pulse of the youth, talking about HD TV how long before it became an everyday appliance.
plus this is early white rap, and a weird one at that.
