The character Bob McKenzie is performed by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as an idea to both fulfill and make fun of network Canadian content statutes, the two became a pop culture success in both Canada and the United States. The two enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
