In the video Rick Moranis to join ‘SCTV’ special, which will air on CTV and Netflix, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of imaginaryfunny Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s part is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was born originally as filler to both follow guidelines and mock non sensical Canadian content statutes, the characters became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The brothers later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
