Bob McKenzie is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was developed originally as fluff to both satisfy and laugh about legal Canadian content legislation, the brothers became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The two enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
