Bob and Doug McKenzie in Rick Moranis – You, Me, The Music, And Me (1989) – 04 – Light My Fire

In the video Rick Moranis – You, Me, The Music, And Me (1989) – 04 – Light My Fire, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian family members who created “Great White North”, a skit which was shown on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in . Bob’s character is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as a skit to both satisfy and laugh at silly Canadian content statutes, the characters transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
