In the video Roadie Marriage Counselor, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a program which was aired on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s part is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was developed originally as a skit to both please and makes jokes about silly Canadian content statutes, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

The character of Roadie marriage-counselor/defense attorney "Chick Monk" was based on "Chip" Monck, MC for famed 'Woodstock Music Festival of the 1969. Monck was a pioneer in stage lighting and rock concert production.
