In the video RubyKaigi2007 日本 Ruby 会議 2007 / Dave Thomas 1/4, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian brothers who starred in “Great White North”, a sketch which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as fluff to both satisfy and laugh at legal Canadian content rules, the siblings became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The characters soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
