In the video RubyKaigi2007 日本 Ruby 会議 2007 / Dave Thomas 3/4, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is acted by actor Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and mock silly Canadian content laws, the duo transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The pair enetually would become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
