In the video Ryan Reynolds And Rick Moranis In Mint Commercial | Life Lesson, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hilarious Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a show which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s third season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is played by Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh at network Canadian content statutes, the characters morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The pair went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
It’s inspiring to see Ryan Reynolds keep trying weird things. Even things that have historically not worked like getting Rick Moranis to be in your commercial.
