Bob and Doug McKenzie in S.O.C.O.M.-TAKE OFF (SONG ONLY)

In the video S.O.C.O.M.-TAKE OFF (SONG ONLY), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of made up Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was shown on second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by Dave Thomas. It was made originally as fluff to both fulfill and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content demands, the pair transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The two later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
