Bob and Doug McKenzie in Santa Claus Is Coming to Town

In the video Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of strange Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a sketch which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was aired on CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh at stupid Canadian content statutes, the siblings morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
