In the video ~ ~ ~ School Announcements ~ ~ ~, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a skit which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Although born originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh about silly Canadian content demands, the siblings morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and America. The characters soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
