Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV 1 – 05 Witness to Yesterday, Match Unto My Feet

In the video SCTV 1 – 05 Witness to Yesterday, Match Unto My Feet, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s third season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as a sketch to both satisfy and mock dumb Canadian content legislation, the two turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The pair became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
