Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV 1 – 07 Dialing for Dollars

In the video SCTV 1 – 07 Dialing for Dollars, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s part is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as fluff to both fulfill and laugh at dumb Canadian content guidelines, the duo grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The brothers became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
