In the video SCTV – 1984: Big Brother – New Year’s Eve, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hysterical Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s character is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by actor Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously created originally as filler to both fulfill and make fun of stupid Canadian content guidelines, the brothers morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and America. The two became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
