Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – A Fistful Of Ugly (1977)

In the video SCTV – A Fistful Of Ugly (1977), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of odd Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it moved to CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s character is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as fluff to both please and mock annoying Canadian content policies, the pair transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
