Wow anyone know how SCTV got one of the most famous Voice Actors to do the narration? Anyone know who it was?
RIP John Houseman (September 22, 1902 – October 31, 1988), aged 86
And
RIP Robin Williams (July 21, 1951 – August 11, 2014), aged 63
You both will be remembered as legends.
Okay, not gonna lie, but I don’t remember this episode back in the day.
What's interesting about this is that John Houseman had recommended Robin and Christopher Reeve for an advanced acting program at Juilliard in the early 70's. I'm sure Robin had the highest respect for him and that Houseman probably thought the sketch hilarious.
Absolutely hilarious!
KIds these days wouldn't know John Houseman…this is great stuff.
Classic!
Johnny Carson and Christopher Reeves brought me here.
If I miss my guess Houseman was one of Williams' teachers at Harvard and if i also miss my guess, he's the one who encouraged Williams to give up a career as a dramatic actor for comedy.

John Houseman was one of Robin Williams" instructors when he attended Julliard.
"Smith Barney, they make money the old fashioned way, they earn it", who could forget that commercial. When he played a law professor in "The Paper Chase", he was always calling on "Mr Hart" to explain the finer points of a case.
Millennials: "WTF is a phone book??"
"Smith… BARNEY!"
Just so bizarrely off-the-wall, I laugh every time.
The crazy thing is, I'd actually like to hear him read some more from the phone book….
Sketches like this were why I stayed up late Friday nights to watch SCTV Network on NBC.
Thanks. It made my night. Those were some good times watching SCTV.
I remember watching this on SCTV.
Haven't this one for years – thanks for posting!
I should be laughing, but I'm crying :'(
My word! An Oscar-worthy performance! Bravo! Melonville was always known for bringing in all of the top talent to perform for it's fine citizens! …R.I.P. Robin…
