Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Andrea Martin Xmas Dance

In the video SCTV Andrea Martin Xmas Dance, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a program which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s part is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was made originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh about annoying Canadian content statutes, the pair became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The characters soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
