Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Big Brother

In the video SCTV Big Brother, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as a joke to both please and laugh at stupid Canadian content rules, the pair turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The brothers later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
