In the video SCTV Cast Members on Letterman, Part 8 of 12: 1993-1998, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as a skit to both follow guidelines and mock network Canadian content demands, the pair transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The two later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
