Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Channel # 8 UNCUT

In the video SCTV Channel # 8 UNCUT, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was shown on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s character is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh at annoying Canadian content policies, the two became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
