In the video SCTV – Coming Soon: “CHARIOTS OF EGGS” (Thursday @ 9), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh at legal Canadian content statutes, the brothers morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
